The main updates we pushed over the last week in terms of user experience are: Anti-Cheat UpdatesĪs usual we will limit the disclosed changes to those that do not affect the security of the Anti-Cheat. In this post we recap some the updates we pushed.
Additionally to avoid confusion communication happens always in the same place, the match chat.FACEIT Anti-Cheat Update, Ban List & Few FixesĪs you may have noticed, since the full release of the client Anti-Cheat we have been working non-stop on updating it and have been pushing almost an update per day. If an Organizer has the new Admin Panel enabled, you can now easily contact an Admin for that tournament by clicking “Call Admin” in the room. First contact: One of the most infuriating things for a player is when something just doesn’t work.Coordination is key: Need to make sure that other admins are aware of why you took a certain decision? Just leave them a note and if they ever go on that match they’ll see it.Bird’s eye view: No need to wait for a ticket to come in telling you there’s a problem, with the “Matches” tab, you can see all the matches in your tournament and interact with them directly. This feature will not allow anymore tickets to be created for that room until re-enabled. Put the receiver down: If a user has taken it upon themselves to make ticket after ticket, asking for an admin’s attention, Organizers can decide to “disable the call”.Change the decision: Organizers have the ability to change the results of a match on the fly meaning that if, for whatever reason, the incorrect match results are displayed, this can be rectified by an admin. An issue can be raised and/or assigned by an admin as well, making it easy to escalate the issue in your team. Once a user requires attention a live issue is opened and an admin can select it, see all relevant information on the match and communicate in the match chat. Open communication channels: With the new Admin Tool, communication flows in both directions, either instigated by the player or by the Organizer. If you don’t want to utilize the tool you can disable it from the settings. Entirely up to you: Organizers are given the option to enable the admin tool or not.The Admin Panel from an Organizer’s perspective (names have been removed for the privacy of the players) How does it work for Organizers? To close, you can divide the bans in to segments: i) a very large number of bans within just a few matches and ii) new bans to a few (~200) very old accounts thanks to new detection methodologies. The second thing is that we added additional detection to the ban waves, which found and banned some very old accounts that were previously undetected. This is one of the most difficult things to do as implementing direct bans can lead to an easier reverse engineering and updating the detection quickly enough is a challenging job. How many of the bans are thanks to continuous monitoring? How quickly can we update detections of known cheats? How quickly do we take action against cheaters that can already be detected? The median instead answers a different set of questions: This is because the average includes new detections that were recently introduced and these new detections ban old accounts that have played a lot of matches thanks to cheats that used to be undetected. The main stat we look at to analyze this is the median matches played (3 matches) rather than the average (29.6 matches). The first thing is that we started detecting cheaters way faster, moving some bans into the direct bans category instead of waiting for ban waves. Stats between January 8th and January 20thĪs you can see from the stats above two things improved since last update: This list shows players that have been banned due to the identification of cheating. Today we’ve gone one step further and have made a Public Ban List available to you. In an effort to provide information, we have released a few posts over the past few weeks to give an insight into the quantity and variety of bans that have been issued from our AC. Since we released our Anti-Cheat (AC) client back in December, we have had many of our players requesting more information in regards to how the AC has affected the FACEIT platform. Tweaks and bug fixes on Classic Offensive.Fixing scalability and bugs of the Client Anti-Cheat.Added blacklist to tournaments to ban players from specific tournaments.Admin Panel for Organizers now live for everyone.Public ban list visible to everyone (limited to cheating bans). As many of you have noticed our team here has been incredibly busy since the new year, and this week has been no different! While we are working on some big features that will be coming soon, we’ve got a handful of updates to share with you that will benefit both our user base and our organizers.
